April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic medal. Ross is among a few female players of beach volleyball to have done so. In Tokyo during the next few days, she'll be aiming to claim her third Olympic medal along with the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. In addition, Ross hopes to win her first Olympic gold. Since she's 39 years old and has a long way to go, this could be her last chance. Still confident but she is not sure. Ross stated to NBC Boston that if they perform at their very best, and even play well her team will be able to win the gold medal. That's why I'm taking some luck also. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. She went on to compete in numerous sports at Newport Harbor High School. The prep sports she played included indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as track and running. She was clearly the best player in indoor volleyball. The college bio says that she was an outside-hitting hitter, middle blocker and setter during her volleyball career during high school. To honor her achievements, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. Also, in 2000 she was named Orange County Athlete of the Yr for volleyball. Ross and Klineman may have begun working together in the year 2017, however Ross had already been a seasoned player at the beach before they teamed up. She has been able to win multiple events, and one was won by the legendary player of volleyball. Between 2007 and 2013 she played by Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace on the international stage, claiming the world championship in 2009. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends that was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, beat each other to take home the gold. It was fate that had them. Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. They both went on to take home the bronze beach volleyball trophy at Rio Olympics 2016. They were joined by Walsh Jennings. Ross was a student athlete with the Trojans of USC prior to the start of her professional career. She played in high school, as well as before hitting the beaches as a professional. And her run at USC was an impressive one. Her freshman year in 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of award and become an All-American. She also helped the Trojans to make it to their first Final Four. In her sophomore year, she suffered a tremendous personal setback but managed to repeat as an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons with the Trojans they helped win consecutive championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named as the most successful female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the United States by The Honda Sports Award. Ross, a USC international relations student, was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross wasn't able to watch her daughter's rise to beach volleyball fame. Ross's mother died of cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become an undergraduate student in the second year at USC. As a result, Ross remains near to her mother who passed away. Margie, on the beach as well as in everyday life, inspires her.
